India’s largest telecom supplier, Reliance Jio, met a major service disorder on the evening of July 6, 2025, and left millions of users across the country without mobile signals, internet connection or voice services for about an hour.
Suddenly, the outbreak of the Jio network triggered confusion and frustration with much affected cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Kochi. For India’s rapid digital economy, even an hour’s network flowering brings out the real world result.
What happened on July 6?
The current started around 20:10. Thousands of users across India reported questions “no signals”, failed in voice calls and disturbed 5G/4G mobile data. According to real -time tracking on dowdates, more than 11,000 complaints were submitted during the first 30 minutes.
Affected Services:
- Noise.
- 4G and 5G mobile data.
- Jio Fiber and Jioairfiber Connection in some areas.
Blackout affected both retail and corporate customers, with extensive complaints from those who depend on Jio for important services such as UPI transactions, online education, video conferences and OTT streaming.
How wide was the power outage?
The power was national, and impressed users in at least 10 Indian states:
- Delhi ncr
- Maharashtra (Mumbai, Pune)
- Gujarat (Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat)
- Rajasthan (Jaipur, Kota)
- Karnataka (Bengaluru)
- Telangana (Hyderabad)
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Vest -bengal
After the previous disturbance June 16 (Kerala, Tamil Nadu) and June 29 (Vest -India), it was the third big power outage in a month.
What is the cause of network failure?
So far, Reliance Jio has not released any official explanation for the power outage. However, telecom experts suggest that the disturbance would probably be due to one of the following:
- A core configuration error.
- A backend software update failure.
- DNS or Server Routing Problems at National Level.
Fast recovery area-specific hardware within an hour suggests a centralized technical error instead of damage or fiber cut.
When and how was it solved?
Around 21:15 ist, most users reported that their signals and their connection were restored. No software updates were required and users did not need to change the SIM card.
- Recovered by users:
- Re -starting equipment
Why does it mean something to Indian consumers
Jio serves over 465 million customers throughout India and owns a majority shares in 5G rollouts under the Jio TRUE 5G initiative. The company also strengthens digital infrastructure for fintech platforms, OTT apps, education portals and companies through Jio Fiber and Jio Business Prasad.
A service of this magnitude, although short -lived, has a domino effect in India:
Digital Payment (UPI/QR transaction)
- External features and video conferences
- Online learning platform
- Streaming services
- E-commerce and logistics
Repeated users reduce confidence without openness, especially in a country where digital services are now necessary.
What users should do if problems persist
If you are still facing networking problems after power failure, there are steps to follow here:
Reboot your mobile device
- Turn off and on flight mode.
- Manually switch from 5G to 4G in network settings.
- Myjio -App → Jiocare → Use Troubleshooting.
- Raise a support ticket via www.jio.com or call 198.
If this problem continues unsolved, users may consider expanding the case to the Telecom Regulatory Authority (Trai) through the consumer’s complaint portal.
Final thoughts
July 6, power failure is a reminder that scalability should come with reliability. When India leads to digital India and AI-operated services, the infrastructure that supports this infection should be safe, consistent and responsible.
While Jio continues to lead to 5G extension, the increasing frequency of the power outage – jointly with a lack of openness – can put its reputation at risk of a rapidly competitive telecommunications site.
